DailyBurn is a part of the MindSpark company, who handles a number of interactive online applications. Originally named Gyminee, DailyBurn has furthered the original focus of helping users manage their personal health and fitness through online tools, communities and media. By bringing so many interactive elements together, DailyBurn offers a diverse arsenal of fitness weapons. Today, the site remains focused on the original purpose of Gyminee, with a few updates.

The application pulls together a collection of different media to help enhance the user’s experience and adding versatility to the site’s functions. The entire site is dedicated to the DailyBurn features with no intrusive advertisements. Throughout registration and using DailyBurn features, the user is greeted with clean, neat navigation menus and a convenient layout that leaves little to be desired.

How does the registration process work?

To register, new users simply click the green create account button on the homepage. To register, an email address, username, and password must be entered. After correctly typing the security code, the user is taken to their profile page, called the locker room. A pop up box begins the personalization process requesting information about weight loss goals, diet and health status. After working through the brief questionnaire, users are provided with results that tell them an estimated quantity of daily calories, fat and other nutrition factors to help them set a standard for a weight loss or muscle building diet.

Users are given four membership options when registering for DailyBurn. The most cost effective is the free account, which grants access to basic features with some limitations. Free account holders are limited to 20 favorite foods and seven favorite exercises. A pro lite plan runs about $50 a year and includes advanced nutrition tracking, body tracking, training plans, iPhone features, no advertisements, 50 favorite foods and 20 favorite exercises. Users who choose a pro plan pay about $75 a year when taking advantage of the 15% off discount offered for approximately two hours after initial account creation. This account upgrades to unlimited favorite exercises and foods, meal planner access, iCal integration, and grocery lists. The highest level membership option is the elite plan, which costs about $200 a year. This account type includes all the features plus a my trainer inbox, unlimited advanced progress reports and limited edition t-shirt.
